Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using FoodSavvy. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute an agreement between you and the FoodSavvy developer (“we,” “us”) governing your use of the FoodSavvy iOS application (“App”) and its services. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. Service Description
FoodSavvy is an AI-powered menu translation iOS app that lets you photograph restaurant menus — including handwritten ones — and receive translations in your preferred language.
AI Translation Service
The translation feature relies on a third-party AI service provider. Service availability or translation quality may be affected by the provider’s technical status, policy changes, or service interruptions. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
Translation results are AI-generated and provided for reference only. They may not be fully accurate. For important information such as allergens or dietary requirements, please confirm directly with the restaurant.
Local Data Storage
Translated menu data is stored only on your device and is not backed up to our servers. If you delete the app or clear app data, this translation history cannot be recovered.
3. User Accounts
Account Creation Some features require an account created via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information.
Account Responsibility You are responsible for maintaining account security and all activities under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Account Deletion You may delete your account at any time through app settings. Account deletion does not affect any refund rights you may have under Apple App Store policies.
4. Plans and Payments
Free Plan Free users may perform up to 3 AI menu translations per calendar month. Usage resets at the beginning of each month.
Monthly Subscription (Premium) The Premium monthly subscription provides unlimited translations and is billed monthly through the Apple App Store with automatic renewal. To cancel, disable auto-renewal in your App Store settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Time-Limited Passes We offer 7-day and 15-day passes that provide unlimited translations during the pass period.
- Passes activate immediately upon purchase and cannot be delayed or paused
- Passes expire at the end of their validity period without auto-renewal
- If you purchase an additional pass while a pass is still active, the validity period is extended from the current expiry date
App Store Billing All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. By purchasing, you agree to Apple’s payment terms and conditions.
Refunds All in-app purchases are subject to Apple’s refund policy. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly.
5. Intellectual Property
The FoodSavvy app design, interface, code, and all content we create are protected by copyright and owned by the FoodSavvy developer.
You retain ownership of photos you take with the app. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your photos solely to complete translation requests. This license terminates upon completion of the translation request. Translation results are for your personal reference only.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the app’s source code
- Use the service for commercial purposes without authorization
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions
- Use automated tools to access the service in an abnormal manner
7. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Translation results are AI-generated and are not guaranteed to be accurate. They should not be used as official or authoritative documents. We are not liable for service interruptions, translation errors, or loss of data stored on your device.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the FoodSavvy developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, or the equivalent of USD 50, whichever is greater.
9. Dispute Resolution
If any dispute arises from these Terms or the service, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve it through good-faith negotiation.
